How to Join

For Beginners

Beginners are welcome to join class any time. However, if you have not seen Aikido or Tai Chi before, we recommend that you come and watch a class before signing up, since fees and tuition are not refundable.

Beginners in Aikido are advised to attend at least the two Basic classes per week and add other classes as they progress. They are encouraged to attend all classes except for the Advanced classes which are recommended for students ranked 3rd Kyuu and above. In class, the instructor will guide each beginner at his or her own pace, until the student feels comfortable joining the rest of the class. Alternately, the instructor may have beginners work together in a group under close supervision.

Teen-Beginners in Aikido should attend only three classes per week, including the two Basic classes plus one other General class.

Beginners in Tai Chi can join any time and should plan to attend all three weekly classes.

Tuition & Fees

TUITION POLICY

1. Enrollment is not complete until the application is completed, signed and accepted, and tuition is paid.
2. New students are not allowed to train until registration is complete.
3. Tuition is due in advance for each month or quarter. No bill is sent.
4. After the 5th of the month a late fee of 10% is added to the amount due.
5. Paid tuition is not refundable.
6. At enrollment tuition is pro-rated for the current month plus next month.
7. A student can use only one of the applicable discounts.
8. Students who have been inactive for 3 months will be taken off the roll and must re-enroll with the applicable fee.
