ProgramsAikido Institute Davis offers the following programs: Aikido for Adults - All levels and all ages 15 and up are welcome. Students can attend six classes per week. We encourage a regular training schedule that includes at least three classes per week. Beginners should focus on the Basic classes. In a typical class, the instructor may break the class into groups of students of similar levels and guide each group according to its pace. Classes are supplemented by seminars taught by Sensei or guest teachers during the year. Aikido for Teens - The program is designed for teenagers from 14 to 17 years old; however, other children may be admitted upon skill evaluation. We recommend the students to attend the two Basic classes plus one other General class per week. Tai Chi - The Tai Chi Program includes three components: Wu Tai Chi forms (Short Form and Long Form); Chi Kung, and Push-Hands. We recommend that students attend all three weekly classes and participate in all three seminars during the year. Deshi (Apprentice) - This program is designed for serious students who want to commit to an intensive training regimen. Deshi are expected to attend all Aikido and Tai Chi classes. For more detail see Deshi Program. For a list of technical requirements in Aikido programs see Rank Requirements. For the requirements in the Tai Chi program see Wu Tai Chi Curriculum All students are expected to adhere to a strict Code of Etiquette. Yoga - A Yoga program will be added at later date.
